THE META ROSE:
Shared Resonance

Minnie Park

The Meta Rose: Shared Resonance is an interactive audio-visual installation exploring touch,
affect, and collective experience through roses, water, original sound, and responsive visuals.
The work invites participants to activate the installation together, using connection and shared
presence as part of the experience.

How to Interact

  1. 1. One person places a hand in the grounding water in the corner of the room.
  2. 2. Stay in skin contact with another person, such as by holding hands.
  3. 3. The other person touches one of the hanging roses.
  4. 4. Together, you activate the visual and sound.

This work is designed to be activated collectively. It cannot be triggered alone.

Conceptual Approach

This project explores emotional resonance through touch, relation, and shared presence.
Using roses as symbolic and tactile interfaces, the work invites participants to reflect on
softness, tension, intimacy, fragility, and mixed feelings. The installation is activated
collectively, suggesting that connection itself can become both a condition of interaction and
a way of experiencing affect.

Technical Approach

The installation uses conductive touch interfaces connected to a real-time interactive
audio-visual system built in TouchDesigner. Touch and human connection complete the circuit and
activate responsive visuals, lighting, and original sound in real time. Roses function as the
playable tactile interfaces, while grounding through water and skin contact makes collective
participation necessary for the work to activate.

Minnie Park is an artist based between Seoul and Melbourne, working across interactive
audio-visual art, 3D media, music, and expanded digital practices. Her practice is anchored in
a curiosity about human emotion, how feeling manifests, how colour carries affective weight, and
how these forces shape both our inner lives and relational worlds.
Through immersive and interactive works, Minnie creates audio-visual experiences that invite
audiences inward, opening spaces to explore emotion, identity, and the quieter textures of
self-knowledge. Her projects move fluidly between the digital and the sensory, often positioning
the audience as active participants in shaping shared affective experience.
